What happens when you eat expired food?

Good question, isn’t it? Earlier this week I got into this discussion with a few friends and it was interesting hearing how different everyone’s interpretation of “expired” really is.

I, for one, was more than a little freaked out that some people don’t believe food expires – AT ALL!  That’s just not right.  I mean, milk, now … come on?!  This is a dairy liquid that comes from a cow (which is warm when it comes out, I’ll grant you that), but I am still confused about the whole “homogenization” process and how the chilling afterward then creates a timeline whereby the milk becomes future cottage cheese.  It just baffles me.  But back to the subject at hand, which is expired milk and the answer is very clear,
